“Berlin, Berlin, we’re going to Berlin!” – German Corporate Championship Outdoor 2018

Jena, October 10, 2018

After an Outdoor-Corporate Cup season, which included 12 qualification tournaments, 154 teams, 486 matches and 1122 goals, the big German Corporate Championship was going to take place on September 29, 2018. Under the motto “Berlin, Berlin, we are going to Berlin!”, 16 teams from 9 German states took the sometimes long way to the Allianz Stadium of the capital to play on Saturday for the title of best footballing company in Germany.

Among others, the title holder BBL from Saxony and the current indoor-champion Intensivpflege Seipt from Hesse were present. Both ended their group stage without losing any point.
After the quarter- finals, exciting semi-finals followed. The matches BBL vs. BorgWarner (Rhineland-Palatinate) and Intensivpflege Seipt vs. GISAsoccer (Saxony) ended with a penalty shootout. While BBL lost in one of the longest and most exciting shootouts in the history of the Corporate Cup, Intensivpflege Seipt managed to win. With BBL failing due to “a lack of the necessary ounce of luck” and losing the shootout in the small finale, 3rd place was won by the GISAsoccer team. The last game of a long and intensive outdoor-season 2018 was played between Intensivpflege Seipt and BorgWarner.

Intensivpflege Seipt had the better start in the game and took the early lead with 1:0. BorgWarner was able to equalize thanks to their great commitment. It was a highly exciting match with good chances on both sides. Then happened, what it had to happen and again a high-level shootout was the result, with which Intensivpflege Seipt triumphed at the end. Thus, Intensivpflege Seipt managed to win another title next to the win of the current indoor-season.
